Keep your eyes peeled for sweet dreamers and tainted lovers as Old Waconian Tim Cooper, Class of 2006, is taking Wilmslow back to the 80s, Shakespeare-style!

With the support of Wilmslow Town Council, Tim, and Time & Again theatre company, hope to reconnect with local audiences and bring theatre back in style after its eighteen month absence during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Generously backed by Wilmslow Town Council, who have provided a grant to help get the event on its feet, this will be the first time outdoor theatre has come to The Carrs park. And you're invited to the show...

Pack a picnic, pull up a chair, and prepare to encounter runaway lovers and feuding fairies, magic, mayhem, and mistaken identities in Shakespeare’s joyous comedy! This Dream will take you back to the 1980s - think striking miners, new romantics, neon lights, and a big royal wedding!

Audience members are encouraged to bring a blanket or a chair to sit on. In event of rain, please bring umbrellas and waterproofs as the show will go on regardless of summertime showers!

Theatre has been one of the hardest hit industries during the Covid-19 pandemic and now, as the world begins to open up again, it feels essential to bring back the arts with as much enthusiasm as possible.

“We were one date into a UK wide tour when the first lockdown began,’ said Tim, Old Waconian and a Wilmslow resident for over thirty years. “It’s been really hard to see so many shows cancelled and theatres closed during the past year. But we’re really looking forward to performing again and doing such a fun play outdoors in our local town seems like the best way to restart!”

Time & Again are an award-winning theatre company based in Cheshire, who explore all things historical in ways that are fresh and relevant for today. During the first lockdown in 2020 they received funding to produce a 16 part audio drama Greyhounds, following the trials and tribulations of every day life during World War II for the residents of Shuttlefield village. They have extensive touring experience, having performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Greater Manchester Fringe, rural touring runs in Kent, Cheshire, Cambridgeshire, Shropshire, off West End performances in London, and collaborations with museums and  historical sites including RAF Museum Cosford, the Severn Valley Railway, the Pankhurst Centre, and the Yorkshire Air Museum.
