It's Ciao for now!

Last week saw the final lesson in our first OneCHS Masterclass: Beginners’ Italian Course.

Our evening class learners included Old Waconians, staff, and parents who joined Italian teacher, and former CHS parent, Gemma Toia for eight jam packed weeks of Italian language learning and cultural insights.

Gemma wanted to share the following message with her students:

Carissimi, 

Kirstin, Kate, Andrew, Olivia, Gill, Ranjit, Joanne, Judith and Nicola I have entirely enjoyed travelling through Milano, Roma, Venezia and Mantova with you, even if it was only virtual.  

Grazie for being such a 'gruppo fantastico'. 

'Non vedo l’ora' (I can’t wait) to meet you all 'in persona' for an Italian dinner in Manchester. 

'Grazie e alla prossima'!  (Thank you and see you next time!)

Old Waconian Andrew Macdonald, Class of 1970, has thoroughly enjoyed going back to school, albeit online: “Gemma has worked so hard to deliver our Italian lessons in such a positive fun filled way. She has put loads of effort into each lesson and I have spent much enjoyable time doing homework again... it all makes me think how I could have tried harder learning A level French back in 1968-1970. Now of course non vedo l'ora (I can't wait) to travel back to Italy!”

We’re hoping that following the success of these classes we will be able to offer similar classes in the future expanding to include Spanish. Watch this space!
