Sixty years, almost to the exact day. That was the extraordinary milestone celebrated over the summer when Old Waconians David (Dave) Howard, Stephen (Steve) Dawber, and Paul Simmonds, all from the Class of 1965, reconnected to look back on six decades of friendship and shared history.

Having all stayed on for a third year in the Sixth Form, the trio officially left CHS in July 1966. While Dave and Steve have kept in touch over the years (coincidentally both living in Northamptonshire for over three decades) Steve and Paul had only met once since their school days. For Dave and Paul, however, this summer's get-together was their very first time seeing each other in 60 years. To put that timescale into perspective: the last time the pair stood in the same room, England hadn't yet won the World Cup!

The three Old Waconians spent a thoroughly entertaining few hours reminiscing and sifting through decades-old school memorabilia. Among the treasures brought to the table were original form photographs and a prized 1963 newspaper clipping from the Manchester Evening News, which famously published every student's O-Level results, an invaluable cheat sheet for recalling the names and faces of old classmates!

Now all proud grandfathers, Dave, Steve, and Paul send their very best wishes to the entire Class of 1965.
