Pete Twist (Class of 2012) was a remarkably talented individual who was only at the beginning of a promising career.
In his memory, Pete’s parents Christine and Malcolm have made a wonderfully generous donation to the school, funding the creation of a brand-new, state-of-the-art recording studio. The Pete Twist Studio is fully equipped with high-spec recording technology and beautifully adorned with mementos of his life and legacy.
Dedicated to a young man whose absolute passion was music, the studio features moving reflections from Pete’s family, friends and colleagues. Together, they commemorate his legacy while offering inspiring words of encouragement to the students creating within it.
BMI, BAFTA, Emmy, Ivor Novello, Grammy Award-Winning Composer David Anrold recalls:
"Pete Twist understood that music wasn't just about the notes, the structure, the harmonisation or the production. He knew it was about feelings ,about emotion, about communication. Long conversations with Pete left me with no doubt as to his commitment to the humanity which was at the heart and the centre of everything he did musically. Connect with yourself and others in the same way that Pete did and you’ll be doing the right thing."
This extraordinary gift will inspire generations of aspiring Waconians to follow their dreams, create music, and break into the industry, just as Pete did. Through the creativity sparked within these walls, his memory and passion will continue to shine brightly for years to come.
