Over 100 Old Waconians came back through the green door on Saturday 15 November for the 131st Annual Old Waconians’ Dinner and Tours.

Among the CHS alumni and friends that we welcomed back were the Classes of 1965, 1975, 1985 and 1995, who were all celebrating special reunions. Some of those in the anniversary classes took part in a tour of the School prior to the dinner, with some Old Wacs joining us from as far away as Canada. While they were on the tour, the guests had the opportunity to have an early catch-up and take a look at the photo collections from their era of CHS.

The evening’s proceedings began with drinks in the Underpass, followed by a carefully curated three-course menu from our catering partners, Sodexo. The Dining Hall was decorated with twinkling lights, candles and foliage which made this long-standing part of the School feel reminiscent of an enchanted forest.

Between the courses and catch ups, we heard from our guest of honour, President of the Old Waconian Association, Susan Bullock CBE (Class of 1977), who inspired dinner guests with her story of realising her true potential as a member of the Sixth Form at CHS. We were also delighted to be joined by former member of staff, parent and Old Wac, Vera Moore (Class of 1956), who was presented with the Old Waconian Contribution Award. As we look to the festive season, Vera spoke of the lasting friendships that her time at CHS had brought her.

This year’s Old Wacs Dinner may have only lasted a few hours, but a lifetime of memories were shared as conversations continued back where it all began.

You can look back on this year's dinner by browsing the photo album on the CHS Community website.
