Following last year’s success, this year’s event, held at the Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 1st March will once again see CHS pupils volunteering front-of-house, backstage, supporting the social media team and ensuring the event runs seamlessly. Alongside this, a group of pupils will be in the audience after having won tickets by participating in our very own CHEdx competition where they were challenged to deliver TEDx style talks on a subject they are passionate about to a live audience.
CHS’s involvement in TEDxManchester is just one example of the school’s outstanding co-curricular programme, which was recognised as a significant strength in our latest ISI inspection. From science, sport and the arts , we are committed to ensuring that our pupils have opportunities to develop their skills beyond the classroom, preparing them to engage with the wider world.
Mrs Laura Rossiter, CHS’s Academic High Performance Programme Lead said:
“At CHS, we place great importance on oracy—an essential skill that empowers young people in their future education and careers. Our collaboration with TEDxManchester and our own CHEDx initiative give pupils a real-world opportunity to explore ideas, develop their public speaking skills, and engage with new perspectives”.
With pupils volunteering, speaking, and spectating, TEDxManchester continues to be an unmissable experience for our school community—one that embodies CHS’s commitment to curiosity, confidence, and lifelong learning.
