Former CHS Head of Chemistry, Mr Chippendale, has been in touch with an update from Switzerland.
"Can’t believe we have been in Basel for almost 2 years. We really enjoy living here - Basel is a beautiful, vibrant city with so much going on. I am still doing some chemistry teaching through online tuition - it has made me realise how much I love my subject and what a privilege it is to be able to help other people understand it more.
I am very much involved in the Anglican Church Basel (my wife is the Chaplain), leading sung worship and singing tenor in the choir. I really appreciate that I have time to enjoy my love of sport and exercise, cycling into Germany (which is only a short ride away), running and swimming in the (very clean) Rhine, which flows through the heart of Basel. And we are in Switzerland of course, so we enjoy walks in the amazing countryside and skiing in the winter.
I often think of the staff and students at CHS and look back on my 22+ years at the school with great fondness and appreciation."
Thanks for keeping in touch Mr Chippendale!
