Remembering Old Waconians, Kate and Archie Vokes

We are very sorry to share the deeply saddening news of the tragic passing of Kate and Archie Vokes.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Kate and Archie and as a community we stand together in our support, love, and sympathy to all those affected by this tragedy which occurred whilst they were skiing with their family over the Christmas holidays.

Kate (née Oglesby) left CHS in 1987 and her connection to our school endured long after her graduation, as she remained actively involved as an Old Waconian and later as a parent when Archie joined CHS. She was immensely generous with her time and support through her family's charitable foundation which supported a number of CHS and local community initiatives.

Archie graduated from the Class of 2020 and will be  remembered fondly by teachers and peers alike. His passion for sports, particularly rugby, set him apart as a dedicated and inspiring athlete. Archie exemplified the spirit of CHS through his achievements and the positive impact he had on those around him.

Our thoughts are with the family and to everyone in the CHS community who knew Kate and Archie.

The family have asked for privacy at this time. If you would like to share any messages of condolence via the School please complete this form and we will pass these on.
