Last week saw around 40 children from Stockport Primary Schools, including CHS’s partner state primary schools attend CHS to hone their football skills during a week-long free football camp.

The camp is just one of the many initiatives highlighting the school’s commitment to engaging with and supporting the local community.

The week was packed with  training sessions, drills, and friendly matches that allowed the youngsters to learn new football techniques, improve their game, and collaborate as a team.

“It was a pleasure to offer this opportunity to young, aspiring footballers," said Matthew Bailey, Stockport County Community Trust Partnerships Manager.  "It's more than just about playing football; it's about empowering these local children with skills, confidence,  a sense of belonging. The facilities at CHS were an ideal environment for our summer camp”.

Neil Smith, Head "Our school has always been at the heart of the community, rooted in a history that emphasises giving back and fostering potential, regardless of a child’s background.. It's paramount for us to open our facilities and share our resources for the benefit of all,"

"This collaboration with Stockport County not only supported young people to access opportunities during the summer break, but also reinforces our commitment to the ethos upon which CHS  was built. Thanks to the team at Stockport County Community Trust for creating such a memorable experience for the young people who attended”.

In addition to these community outreach programs, CHS has established partnerships with local state primary schools to support academic and co-curricular programs and charities. Find out more about CHS partnership work and social impact here.
