Nominate a former pupil or member of staff before 24 February 2023 for one of our three Old Waconian Awards. 

The categories are: 

The Distinguished Old Waconian Award 

Elana Campbell, Class of 1998 was last year's winner of this award for her support and advocacy of her son and of the autism community. You can read more about Elana’s story as well as previous winners of this award, including 2021's winner David Collins, here.

The Distinguished Old Waconian Award aims to identify an Old Waconian or former member of staff who has a lifetime of outstanding contributions and achievement in one or more fields of endeavour. They will also be an exemplary role model to other Old Waconians, be a strong leader in their field and embody Waconian values. 

If you can think of someone who embodies these qualities, nominate them for the Distinguished Old Waconian award here today.

The Old Waconian Early Career Award 

The Old Waconian Early Career Award is awarded to an Old Waconian who has left CHS within the last 15 years and will have demonstrated early career or community service achievements or displayed innovative practices in their field. 

Hannah Parvaz, Class of 2011, was last year's recipient of this award and Anya Gomulski, Class of 2010 was 2021’s winner. Both of these winners were recognised for their embodiment of the Waconian values and their hard work throughout the beginning of their careers. The Old Waconian Contribution Award. 

This award aims to recognise former pupils or members of staff who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and success in raising the profile of CHS and improving the experience of those within CHS. 

David Shipley, Class of 1961, was the recipient of last year’s Old Waconian Contribution Award and former staff member Maggie Evans won in 2021. Both David and Maggie have contributed a huge amount to the overall life of pupils at CHS and you can read more about exactly how they did that here
